Review of Offline Participation in the 2026 Dongguk University Future Society Teacher Competency Enhancement Forum

One of the teachers introduced a training program that looked interesting.

It was AI-related training held at Dongguk University.

AI training is nice, but at a hotel?

I felt this was something I absolutely had to attend.

As soon as registration opened on the day, I signed up and was able to attend offline.

1. Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel

At first I wondered why they were holding the training at this hotel with not-so-great accessibility, but when I got there I saw it was literally right in front of Dongguk University.

It was so close that I must have seen it at least once when I went to buy bread at the bakery in front of the main gate of Dongguk University.

From the art pieces displayed on the first floor to the valet parking, the atmosphere at the hotel entrance already felt different.

When I looked it up, it turned out to be a five-star hotel.

There was a training information signboard on the first floor.

I didn’t know where to go, so I just followed the people in front of me who looked like teachers, and that led me to the venue.

2. AI that Supports Classes, AI that Looks into Student Growth

The science teacher’s AI-based lesson contained an incredible amount of content.

I even wondered how it was possible to design classes like that while handling school duties.

It also made me resolve to try various approaches with my own students.

Regarding assessment, they presented on clearly controlling for AI-assisted and non-AI-assisted evaluations, and on the process of fully developing and disclosing rubrics before the assessment.

I liked how the presentation materials showed a deep affection for the students and for teaching.

3. Student Records Written with AI

Among the topics, what stuck with me most was the university’s stance on using AI to write student records.

They said that since using AI to write texts or student records is an inevitable trend of the times, schools don’t necessarily see it in a negative light.

Using AI to polish writing or refine style is acceptable, but they said student records written solely by AI cannot be trusted.

4. Meal

The dinner was the best I’ve had so far at any teacher-related forum.

I truly felt it was a great decision to come.

5. Impressions

It made me feel that Dongguk University is also making various efforts to keep up with the times.

All in all, it was a great opportunity to gain insight through the training and enjoy delicious food at the same time.

I definitely want to attend again next year.
