It has already been 3 months since we started using a robot vacuum to clean high school classrooms.
The students have all adapted, and so have I.
Compared to when I tried using a robot vacuum in middle school, attempting it in high school has proven to have even more advantages.
1. Robot Vacuum Installation
The robot vacuum was placed in the corner with a power outlet.
It just needs to be able to get in and out.
As long as it can find its way home, being in a corner doesn't matter.
2. Robot Vacuum Operation and Management
After homeroom, we secure the doors, press the robot vacuum button, then lock the doors, and that's it.
Of course, the classroom has a designated monitor.
The monitor's role is to clean the robot vacuum.
Every morning when arriving at school, they empty the dustbin of the robot vacuum.
Students simply pick up large trash before homeroom and close the windows.
If the dustbin isn't emptied for about two days, the dust accumulates a lot like this.
It makes me somewhat proud because it shows the robot vacuum is doing a good job.

I took a picture of our classroom floor after homeroom.
The best advantage since introducing the robot vacuum is that there's no dust on the floor.
Also, just picking up large trash and running the robot vacuum means there's no need for nagging.
Not having to waste emotions on each other is also a good point.

You can also access it through an app.
You can see how much it has cleaned and where it has cleaned.

Two weeks ago, we purchased parts for the robot vacuum with class funds.
Robot vacuums do have consumable parts, so continuous replacement and management are necessary.
In the past, I managed classroom cleaning itself, but now I just need to manage the robot vacuum.
3. Selecting a Robot Vacuum Model
The classroom's structure is very complex.
Especially since chairs and desks are often arranged randomly, mapping functionality is a must.
And a LiDAR sensor is also essential.

If there is a round structure on top of the vacuum, it usually has a sensor.
If there is no LiDAR sensor, usually the mapping function is very weak, so I don't recommend it.
4. Where to Buy a Robot Vacuum
Robot vacuums used in schools wear out very quickly.
Moreover, since they aren't really appreciated for being used, I strongly recommend buying them second-hand from a marketplace.

Robot vacuums are generally bought as part of a trousseau, so there isn't much appeal in the second-hand market.
The robot vacuums I bought had to be completely disassembled and cleaned due to hair and odors.
If you purchase them for under 60,000 won out of pocket, we can all be happy.
5. Suggestions
It's been quite a long time since robot vacuums started becoming common in homes.
And even though cleaning school classrooms is a public duty, it's still up to students and homeroom teachers.
Of course, if you enjoy the time spent with the kids, it doesn't matter how you do it.
However, it's truly convenient if you use it.
Now that times have changed, perhaps it's okay to leave these tasks to robots.
