My wife is getting ready to open a new academy, and she needed a computer to use there.
What she wanted was a silver iMac.
The M1 felt too old to buy now, and the M4 was too expensive, so I decided to try to find an M3.

After looking around for used iMacs here and there, I found a listing on Naver for an unopened M3 CTO silver iMac for 1,360,000 KRW.
It was much cheaper than the prices I saw when I searched for an M3 iMac in my neighborhood.

The listing said shipping-only transactions were available, but I asked just in case if a face-to-face deal was possible, and they said it was.
So I ended up going all the way to Doksan Station.
1. Reason for Selling the Unboxed Item

During the transaction, I asked the seller why they were selling an unboxed item.
They said they were a reseller company and were selling company inventory at a low price.
When I searched around, I found that cases like this—selling company stock cheaply—popped up from time to time.
After searching like that and shaking off my worries, I brought the M3 iMac home.
2. Unboxing
The used Mac I bought hadn’t even had the shipping box opened.
My wife peeled off the tape at the top.

Inside, there was the iMac box like this.
We pulled off this packaging all the way, just like a regular box.

The first impression when I opened the box was simply that it was really beautiful.
It was amazing that an all-in-one computer could be this thin and light.

After taking out the main body, there were a keyboard, mouse, and power cable underneath.
The power cable wasn’t the usual type either—since it’s magnetic, it snapped into place easily on the back of the monitor.
Apple’s Mac design really does feel top-notch.

3. Review
On my way to buy the iMac, a lot of thoughts crossed my mind.
The reason for selling it unboxed, what if the seller disappeared after taking the money, what if the iMac didn’t work when I turned it on after buying it...
But fortunately, it turned out to be a product officially imported through a company, and there were no issues with its operation at all.
If there’s one thing I’m a bit disappointed about, it’s that since it was purchased in 2023, it’s no longer eligible for after-sales service (warranty).
But since it’s a used product anyway, that wasn’t something I was really expecting, so it should be fine.
I’m glad I was able to get an unopened unit at a good price, something I hadn’t even hoped for.
I hope the day comes soon when we can place it nicely in my wife’s new academy.
