I recently went to Sinseol-dong to get some new leather.
After considering where to go, I decided to visit the leather shop called Moduda International, which I always saw while passing by Sinseol-dong.

It’s located right next to it.
If you've been to Sinseol-dong even once, you've probably seen this shop.
That's right.
I bought leather from this shop.

The owner always displays the leather like this.
Originally, they didn’t usually sell vegetable-tanned leather, but all the recent leather they brought in is vegetable-tanned.
When I mentioned I wanted beige leather, they brought out a leather hide from inside.

The hide was almost the size of a whole cow.
Since I haven't handled hides much, I'm not sure, but the quality seemed good.
It was priced at around 4,500 won per pyeong, as I recall.
When I asked if there was a smaller quantity available, the owner kindly cut it in half for me.
Thanks to that, I was able to purchase about 10 pyeong in a smaller quantity.
The black and brown leather seen behind the hide looks just like Pueblo, but it’s leather developed by the owner himself.

There was even more leather inside.
But what caught my eye was the deep green leather that resembles Pueblo!!!
I liked it, so I bought one.
The Pueblo-like leather developed by the owner was 7,000 won per pyeong.
Although it's not that cheap compared to other companies' Pueblo belly, I decided to try it out of curiosity.

I went there on a Saturday at 4 PM, so all the skiving services were closed.
When I asked the owner to ship it after skiving, he sent it for a shipping fee of 6,000 won.
The skiving fee is 3,000 won per piece.

The deep green Pueblo and leather hide from the owner arrived by shipping this time.
The deep green Pueblo (developed by the owner) was quite oily.
When placed next to the leather hide, it's oily enough to stain the hide due to oil.
I was originally planning to make a two-tone wallet with the hide,
but it seems I'll need to use this leather alone to make a product.

As for the leather hide, aside from the losses, it was really clean.
The fact that you can get vegetable-tanned leather for less than 5,000 won seems really attractive.
If I become a bit more familiar with the owner, maybe he'll offer it at an even lower price...?
Anyway, it wasn't a bad place to purchase leather.
If you're buying leather for the first time, or it's not for commercial purposes, you can probably find good leather here.
