One day, after getting an ear piercing, I noticed a keloid.

I heard that using a keloid pad could remove it, so I immediately bought a pad.

I recorded the process of removing the keloid with the pad over about two months.

1. Wearing the Keloid Pad

The pad for keloid correction arrived.

The cost was about 6,000 won.

To save on shipping, I ordered a few other things.

The seller also sent a charm with the keloid pad.

I hope this charm will make the keloid pad effective.

First, before attaching the keloid pad, I made a hole in the pad.

Though there was a hole, it wasn't completely open in the middle, so I had to insert the piercing again to get it through.

Then I tried wearing it. It definitely pressed on the keloid behind my ear.

Since skin tissue cells have a lifespan, the compressed area will decrease as the tissue dies and regenerates.

I plan to add more keloid pads if the piercing feels looser after about 2-4 weeks.

Goodbye, dear keloid ㅜㅜ

2. 2 Weeks of Using the Keloid Pad

Since many seem concerned about keloids, I’ll keep updating on the progress.

It's been 10 days since I used the keloid pad on my piercing.

Initially, I felt some pressure on my ear, but now that feeling has mostly gone.

It now feels a lot more settled.

The keloid seems to have decreased slightly as it's been compressed!!

The keloid especially in the front part of the ear has noticeably reduced.

Since the skin tissue regeneration cycle is 30 days, it seems best to change the thickness of the keloid pad at least monthly.

3. 4 Weeks of Using the Keloid Pad

One month of wearing the keloid pad has passed.

Although the piercing rod itself is long, the keloid hasn’t receded much, but compared to the beginning, you can see some reduction.

It's now time to apply more pressure on the keloid.

As there isn’t a shorter rod, I pressed the keloid pad from both sides.

The ear feels a bit tingling and pressured.

It’s necessary to wait for at least 2 weeks to a month in this state until the keloid recedes.

This time the pressure is stronger than before, so I expect the keloid to recede noticeably in a month.

Keloid scars are slow, but persistent treatment seems to be the only solution.

4. 6 Weeks of Using the Keloid Pad

It's been 2 weeks since I applied more pressure with the keloid pad.

Initially, the pad area was itchy and occasionally hot, but applying Esroban when it was severe, and drying well made it okay again.

Today, I felt nothing with the keloid pad on, so I decided to gently remove the piercing to check only behind the ear.

Looking at the photo.... What???? It’s gone. The keloid is gone. I was so surprised that I turned on the light and took another photo.

Even when I turned on the light and took another photo... it’s really gone.

The keloid has disappeared.

The more interesting part is that the skin where the keloid pad was has flattened in the shape of the pad.

To use the keloid pad effectively, you need to shorten the rod or add more pads to apply gradual pressure.

Below is a comparison of the day I discovered the keloid and the current state after using the keloid pad reducing the scar.

The keloid is certainly gone. I hope the next post will show pictures with the keloid gone and finally wearing the piercing properly.

5. Finally Removed the Keloid Pad

Two months of wearing the keloid pad.

I finally completely removed the keloid pad from both sides.

It seems that the two weeks of strong pressure was just right rather than the entire four weeks.

Whether four weeks or two, getting rid of the keloid is pretty much the same.

Wearing it for too long might create new flattened keloids as there’s room for the piercing to move.

Now it's gone, leaving only smooth skin.

Later, you just need to clean it to remove any residue.

Anyway, the long battle with the keloid has ended.

If another keloid appears next time, I'll have to use a keloid pad again.

Cartilage piercings require a lot of care.

I hope those reading this, who are worried about keloids, can also end their concerns with a keloid pad.
